Authenticity, Leadership and COVID-19: How this pandemic  is helping us

The consequences are that we seeing more collaboration, more innovation and more human connection than ever before.

The source of authentic, ethical and powerful leadership is vulnerability. We know this. Yet, in the lived experience, it can be hard to accomplish. Opening your heart to people and authentically sharing your life is not always a natural position to take in a family, let alone in an organisational setting.

The beauty of the current pandemic situation, absurd as it seems to say those two words together, is that the fear and concern that lies behind everyone's eyes right now is facilitating an upsurge in vulnerability and authenticity. The consequences are that we seeing more collaboration, more innovation and more human connection than ever before.
It's a wonderful and powerful phenomenon to observe and to be part of.

In my own life, in my work, and with my clients I feel more connected to people than I have for years and many others are saying the same. For me, this shows up at the moment I pick up the phone to talk to a new potential client. Instead of worrying I'll screw-it up, I'm finding it easier to call people I don't know well.
Are you observing this in your life? If you look carefully, can you see more authenticity and vulnerability? I would love to know your thoughts.
